Court Date

Just a quick update to let everyone know our first court date was today, February 22nd.  It actually occurred while we were asleep last night, so of course she was the last thing I thought of before I went to bed and the first thing I thought of when I woke up.  

We will not hear anything today unless there was paperwork missing... sort of "no news is good news".  We were represented by our Power of Attorney, and YT and her birth father were probably present.  I thought of her birth father so many times yesterday, trying to send him strength and peace in his decision.  

The next big step will happen in two to three months, when we get the verdict from the judge, which is called the "first decree" or "civil ruling".  From there, it is just 4-6 weeks until the final ruling, when she is legally our daughter and we can travel.  Thanks again for all of your support, inquiries, notes, smiles and hugs- our friends and family have been incredible during this process!
