My name is Steph and I live on the coast of NC with my hubby, Johnny, and our 2 children. We have an inquisitive, beautiful, vivacious 9 year-old daughter and a sweet, funny, eat-him-up-cute 7 year-old son.
So many people have said to us, "one of each... you are done!". But we have always wanted a third child, and feel adoption is the way we would like to add on to our family.
Our adoption road has not been what we expected. We started the process in January 2011 thinking we would have our child home in 6-12 months. We have tried to seek growth and wisdom in the challenges along the way.
We started this blog as a way to keep family and friends updated, but it has also turned into a great way to meet other adoptive families and mutually share our journeys. For those of you who know me well, I am a fairly private person. So every time I am about to hit "post" on an update here I really hesitate. But then I think of how many people ask me weekly, "how's the adoption process going?" with real sincerity in their voice... and also how many adoptive families gave me the "real scoop" in their blogs along the way.

I love to read, stand-up paddle board, hike, and enjoy family and friends. We enjoy being outside!
